Best Apps for Entrepreneurs

Being an entrepreneur means you’re busy pretty much all of the time.
We know from experience! As a small business, we’re constantly running from one task to the next. Utilizing time-saving, productivity augmenting, and sanity-preserving apps makes the day-to-day so much easier. These are the best apps for entrepreneurs and small business people we’ve found so far.
Canva
We love Canva. Love it! If you don’t have an awesome graphic designer on staff, Canva can be a humongous help. It’s fairly intuitive to use and helps you make gorgeous graphics for use all over the web and the real world too. Use their pre-made templates to make designing graphics easy and update them with your own branding!
Feedly
We all have websites and blogs that inspire us but it can be hard to make the time to read all of their new content, right? With the Feedly app, you can pick and choose blogs or other publications to follow and catch up on all of their good info whenever you have the time.
NYT Evening Briefing
Okay, so this is less of an app and more accurately a newsletter, but it’s super helpful! Plus, you’re probably already getting your mail through your Gmail app, right? The New York Times sends an email blast every evening with the news you need to know from the day. This is super helpful for keeping up to date on pretty much everything without getting off track during the day and reading the Apple news app all day long.
iTranslate Translator
It can be tough to cross a language barrier, especially at work! If you work with people who speak a language you don’t then this translator app can help. It has an easy to use interface, and can transfer text, websites, and even do voice to voice conversations in just about every language you can imagine.
Duolingo
If you’re really going for multilingual gold, get your practice in with Duolingo! It can help you learn the basics of a new language, and help you learn key phrases you may need. You can set up reminders in the app so you get your language practice in every single day.
Thesaurus
If you’re writing a lot of emails or blog posts, or pretty much anything online then you need to get the Thesaurus app. Whenever your words start to bore even you, pop ‘em into the thesaurus and get other options to spice things up a bit.
Meetup app
Need to make new local contacts, like, yesterday? You can use the meetup app to find fellow entrepreneurs, do some hobnobbing, and build your network. You can also use the app just to make new friends! Search for meetups with different themes and you can find some like-minded people.
Headspace
Look, we know that being an entrepreneur can be super stressful. Taking just a few minutes a day to meditate can help you clear your brain, de-stress and get those creative juices flowing.
Podcast app
There are a few different podcast apps you can choose from. Apple has their own podcast app, and there’s also Pocket Casts, Stitcher, TuneIn Radio, A-Cast, and Spotify. We all love listening to different podcasts! There are a plethora of great business podcasts, we particularly like Six Pixels of Separation for marketing, Reply All for internet trends, Creative Pep Talk, and The Paid Search Podcast. Plus you can always pop on a more, ahem, fun podcast whenever you need to pep yourself up for a less exciting task.
Talkspace
Having a therapist to talk to can be incredibly helpful for small business owners and entrepreneurs. You can get help managing stress, work through other emotions, and basically have an unbiased therapist on call whenever you need them.
Fitbit
As much as we love productive office time, it can drive you crazy to sit at your desk all day! Fitbit can help remind you to get up and moving, leave your desk for a few minutes, and get some much needed fresh air.
Waze
Being late for an important meeting? No thanks. We use Waze to find out alternative routes for getting from A to B while avoiding traffic. It’s super helpful when avoiding random unpredictable traffic delays.
Evernote
Need help organizing your never-ending to-do list? Paper just isn’t the way to go these days. We all utilize productivity apps for helping to keep our days running smoothly and to make sure we get everything done. Evernote is a great resource for organizing notes, tasks, and ideas in an organized way.
Buffer
If you’re running the show, you probably don’t have time to spend on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter a few times a day. We use the Buffer app to keep our social media profiles up to date. We schedule everything out in advance so we can dedicate the time when we have it and then we don’t have to stress on a daily basis.
Calendly
If your business has you making meetings left, right, and center, you need Calendly. It helps you schedule meetings without the awkward and time consuming back and forth emails. You can essentially send people a link and they can pick a time when you’re free that works well for them. It’s a simple and effective app that is well worth it.
LastPass
When you have fifteen balls in the air, remembering your passwords may not be right at the top of your mind. With LastPass, you simply don’t need to! It stores encrypted passwords for you so you can keep moving with your day.
Dropbox
Having just the right file with you at any given moment used to mean flash drives, lugging around a laptop, or emailing yourself the content you need. With Dropbox you can store all the files you need so you can access them whenever, wherever.
Google Suite
Google is our BFF, and we love using the entire Google Suite. This covers Gmail, Google Docs, Drive, Calendar, Meet, and more. We use pretty much all that Google Suite has to offer on a daily basis. Using Google Suite gives you the freedom to not be tied to your desk. Most apps work easily between your computer, tablet, or phone so you can live that #workfromanywhere lifestyle.
